1 Day Shimba Hills National Reserve Safari
Overview
Schedule Details
F.A.Q
Q: Is this safari suitable for children?
A: Due to the strenuous nature of the hike to Sheldrick Falls (approx. 5km with stairs), this tour is not recommended for children under 6 years old or those who cannot walk long distances
Q: What should I bring with me?
A: We highly recommend bringing:
Sturdy walking/hiking shoes
Swimsuit and towel (for swimming at the falls)
Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat
Insect repellent
Camera and binoculars
Extra water - reviewers emphasize this is crucial in the heat
Q: Will I definitely see the Sable Antelope?
A: While Shimba Hills is one of the best places in Kenya to see them (the only place in East Africa where this antelope is found), wildlife is wild and sightings are never guaranteed . The reserve has healthy populations of elephant, buffalo, and giraffe which are commonly seen
Q: Is the hike to the falls safe?
A: Yes. All hikes are accompanied by an armed Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) ranger to ensure your safety from wildlife and to guide you through the forest
Q: Can I add extra services on the day of the tour?
A: We recommend booking all extras in advance to ensure availability. Some services, like cultural visits or water sports, may be arranged on the day subject to guide and driver availability, but this cannot be guaranteed.
